Surprise babyThe children are based in four rooms, according to age and ability. They will move into the next room when they are ready and not when they reach a particular age milestone. The baby room has a separate sleep area and lots of stimulating pictures, mobiles and appropriate toys.

Once a child is walking they move in to the nearby Tweenie Room where a greater variety of toys and books are available which encourage movement, exploration and active learning through play.

At around the age of two years, children are ready to move into the Toddler Room where the play Children readingequipment includes a computer which the children use to view interactive DVDs and the Internet. The role play area provides opportunities for creative free play and interaction between the children. A comprehensive supply of colourful reading books is regularly updated. At this stage children love to gather together to sing and listen to stories.

The Pre-School Room has direct access to the outside play area where sand and water are regular play opportunities as well as larger toys. The children enjoy painting and craft, and early learning is established in the context of supportive care.
